"Ever wonder what it was like on that first Christmas night . . . no sleigh bells ringing, no church bells pealing, but the stars shown bright 'round Bethlehem that night, as shepherds lay sleeping the angels came singing . . ."  Set in the key of E-flat major, the vocal range for the melody is from B-flat below middle C to the C above.
