This beautiful and rhythmic piece was written by vocal jazz composer and singer, Greg Jasperse. While he wrote this for the voice, it translates well to an instrumental piece.
This arrangement is scored for 5 Bb clarinets, alto, and bass.
The rhythms may seem a little scary at first, but most of them are repetitive in each part. Therefore, once the correct rhythms are achieved at the beginning of the song, it will not take much more to perfect the rest of it.
It is said that VoiceDane was written for a friend's wedding as a processional piece. Jasperse said, "I kept coming back to the word joy when writing the piece and wanted that to come through in the writing."
