Product Description

The Messiah, written by George Frideric Handel, is one of the best-known and most often performed oratorios. It took Handel only 24 days to write the entire work. No doubt, he would be pleased if he knew how popular it still is today. This arrangement for flute choir is the entire Part 1, or Christmas portion, of The Messiah with the Hallelujah chorus included at the end. It can be played as a flute choir piece alone, or it can also be used as the accompaniment to an SATB choir using the parts marked as "Orch". The required instrumentation to play this as a flute choir piece alone are 6 C flutes, 2 alto flutes, and 2 bass flutes. There is an optional contrabass doubling the bass line an octave below. Solos are shared along all instrument ranges. The Messiah is my favorite music to listen to at Christmas and this was a joy to arrange for flute choir. I hope you'll enjoy playing it just as much!
