Product Description

The Suite Bergamasque  is one of the most famous pianosuites by Claude Debussy. It was first composed by Debussy around 1890, at the age of 28, but was significantly revised just before its publication in 1905.
The third and most famous movement of Suite bergamasque is "Clair de lune".
The first piece in the suite is entitled "Prélude", in the key of F and marked tempo rubato. It is full of dynamic contrasts with a vigorous beginning and ending. It is a festive piece, which holds much of the Baroque stylethat is commonly found in preludes.
It has been arranged for a small chamber orchestra of strings, 2 hns, and one each of flute, oboe, clarinet, bsn.
There are two additional optional parts for trumpet and trombone, but all important essential solo bits are cued in oboe and bassoon.
I arranged this while ago (in 2006) for the ensemble I was playing in at the time. (Hence the optional brass parts)
I was not aware of the orchestral arrangements done by  André Caplet and others...it is entirely my own work.
It would work equally well as a chamber ensemble of solo string instruments, playing with with the wind/horns ((but without the two heavier brass.
