Product Description

The tune originated from a song called "Coelius Sedulius" of the 400's AD. Martin Luther, the one who spearheaded Protestantism, set words to it during the early Reformation era. 19th century British scholar Richard Massie would later translate Luther's work into English. The song is a Christmas hymn, rejoicing is Jesus' birth. A modulation to a new key occurs at the end of section B with the aid of a German augmented sixth chord. Section C adds a descant by yours truly. Con riverenza is to play with reverance.
