Product Description

Purcells from Abdelazar Suite. My arrangement for Guitar ensemble. The main theme is in the minor and the episodes are in the relative major and the dominant minor. The play for which the Suite was composed is mostly gloomy , but this Rondo could be used for the 1st scene, which begins with a song and a comment: On me this Musick lost? This sound on me that hates all softness?

The music is lively and upbeat, with dance rhythms and nimble passagework.

Some of the guitar-players enjoy the recurring cycle of fifths so much they sing along with the bass line.

Benjamin Britten famously used this Rondo for his Young Person's Guide to the

Orchestra. 2 minutes.
