Daisy Fields is a work for a string quintet that explores the rich diversity within the neo-romantic genre. The A section opens with a gradual build of harmony, with each instrument entering at different intervals, creating a textured and evolving sound. This section is characterized by dense harmonic layers that evoke deep emotional resonance. The B section introduces intricate rhythms, featuring a 3 + 3 + 2 hemiola throughout, adding a dynamic complexity to the piece. Within this section, the cello takes the spotlight in a solo, followed by a duet between the cello and violin. Daisy Fields follows a traditional ABA form, offering contrast and continuity.
