VIVALDI CONCERTO FOR 2 MANDOLINS - arranged for GUITAR QUARTET/large ensemble

Derek Hasted writes "Famous, in particular, for its delightful Slow Movement, the whole Vivaldi Concerto for 2 Mandolins is a musical gem.

Ive taken my inspiration from a public domain Score and a faultless performance on YouTube.

It might seem odd to arrange a Mandolin Concerto for 4 Guitars, but the interplay between the two lead instruments is now copied in the two accompanying guitars, giving a stereo effect that will delight audiences and players alike.

The first and last movements are really quite brisk, making the overall standard advanced intermediate or higher, but the mellow sound of the guitar does allow a slight reduction in tempo without losing any of the intrinsic beauty of the piece.

Note that the iconic Slow Movement is also on sale separately as a Guitar Trio, suitable for early intermediate to intermediate players. To find it, follow the link below to my website and look for my page of trios.

I hope you enjoy playing this piece!"

This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Derek's website at www.derek-hasted.co.uk/smp lists all his arrangements by title and by "number of instruments", with links to soundclips and sample score.
