"Dido's Lament" is the heart-wrenching closing aria from Henry Purcell's opera, "Dido and Aeneas". The work is well-known for its ground bass and descending chromatic melody, as well as the anguished plea of its lyrics. This arrangement for eight-voice trombone choir was written for and is dedicated to American trombonist Larry Zalkind (on the occasion of his birthday). It's passionate and expressive, and ideally suited for trombone choir. Performance time is 4:30. Difficulty is Medium-Advanced. Member, ASCAP.
