Product Description

After Georges Bizet's death 1875 his opera Carmen became one of the most successful works of this genre in the world. As soon as this success reached Vienna, Eduard Strauss, the youngest of the Staruss brothers processed motifs from the opera to his Carmen Quadrille. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their "Three Kings' Concert" on 6 January 2013 at the "Grosses Festspielhaus" (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria, and broadcasted live by Austrian television. A live recording of this concert is available at https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at/de/la-chasse-die-jagd/ or https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/la-chasse-die-jagd-paris-wien/hnum/10428714?iampartner=303&subid=umr62&ref=partner.jpc.de .
