Bach's popular motet Singet dem Herrn, BWV 225 is the model here for an arrangement for concerto grosso. The concertino consists of soprano and alto recorder, oboe and cor anglais. The ripieno or tutti is scored for strings. The legato slurs are intended to represent the melismas of the vocal parts.
