Product Description

This is perhaps the best known -- or at least most covered -- of the Beatles' songs. It appeared in their 1965 album "Help!" It has since been covered more than 2,000 times; it holds the Guinness record for history's most recorded song. It topped charts around the world when it hit the record stores. Here's a snippet from Wikipedia to give you an idea of how revered it is: "'Yesterday' was voted the best song of the 20th century in a 1999 BBC Radio 2 poll of music experts and listeners and was also voted the No. 1 pop song of all time by MTV and Rolling Stone magazine the following year. In 1997, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Broadcast Music Incorporated asserts that it was performed over seven million times in the 20th century." With that in mind, this arrangement reflects a reasonably straight original treatment, with tango, swing and waltz snippets thrown in to show just what kind of damage a gazillion covers can do.
