Product Description

'Ave Maria' is the sixth movement taken from the "All-Night Vigil", an a cappella choral composition by Sergei Rachmaninoff, his Op. 37, premiered on 23 March 1915 in Moscow. The piece consists of settings of texts taken from the Russian Orthodox ceremony. Along with 'The Bells', it was one of Rachmaninoff's favourite compositions. This arrangement for saxophone choir brings all the sonority of the vespers and would make a wonderful contrasting moment in any concert, particularly if performed in a church, or even a cathedral.
