Product Description

Civila (aka CD) was a Canadian teacher and hymnist. Her husband, Walter, was an American evangelist and composer. This couple in ministry, were late 19th Century to early 20th Century. This hymn of theirs quickly became world famous in the early 1900's. Sections A and C are the verse. Section B and D are the refrain. A modulation to a new key occurs towards the end of B section with the aid of an Italian augmented sixth chord. Section C then introduces a descant by yours truly.
