Product Description

Bach is a well known composer of the Baroque era. He composed and also arranged many German sacred works. Sigmund von Birken was an early 17th Century Bohemian poet, teacher, and hymnist. A modualtion to a new key occurs at the end of B section with the aid of an Italian augmented sixth chord. The next section introduces a descant by yours truly. This piece should not be rushed as it meditates on the passion and crucifixion of Christ. The work is well suited for Good Friday and Easter.
