This traditional song has been classified as folk, African spiritual, Appalachian and Southern Gospel. It was published in 1835. This is a simple arrangement of the song. I did change the lyrics from down in the river to pray to down by the river to pray. The piano accompaniment is simple also. Look for other of my arrangements that have harmonies and unique intros. If not published yet, they will be coming.
