Tchaikovsky completed the ballet in 1876 (original title: Лебеди́ное о́зеро), it premiered the following year at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.

Although it wasn't successful at first, over time it became one of the most famous ballets ever written!

The most popular theme from the piece appears at the beginning of Act 2 (No. 10, titled "Scène").

Today, this hauntingly beautiful piece is considered one of Tchaikovsky's greatest compositions, and one of the most well-known classical works of all time.

A fantastic piece full of complex harmonic and rhythmic changes, the Theme from Swan Lake makes for a marvellous piano piece!
