Product Description

Watts was an English 17th/18th Century shoolmaster, minister, and hymnist. Lowell was a 19th Century hymnis from Massachusettes. This hymn was based on a Gregaoria chant called "Hamburg." Section A exposits the hymn. Section B goes into a minor key with a legubrious and funereal feeling. The first trumpet adds a phrase that is almost like a waling quality. Section B then ends on a picrady third followed by an Italian augmented sixth chord. Section C is now the newly modulated major key with a descant by yours truly added.
