Product Description

The Daily Reading Series is a six-volume reading comprehension supplement for piano students.
The books:
- strengthen students music reading skills in order to promote independent learning;
- reinforce concepts that they have learned previously (through method books and theory books, for example) and ensure that those concepts become ingrained through continual use;
- are designed to be used concurrently and in cooperation with the study of repertoire, technique, ear training, and theory;
- begin by focusing on developing the fundamental skill of recognizing and executing written
pitches and rhythms; once the fundamentals are in place, the focus gradually evolves into the
more complex challenge of transforming a visual representation into a musical
experience

Suggested Pre-Requisite Knowledge for Level 1:
Key signatures: up to 2 sharps/flats
Time signatures: 2/4, 3/4, 4/4
Pitches: all pitches on grand staff
Note/rest values: 8th to whole
Chords: n/a
Symbols: staccato, slurs, p, mp, mf, f
Terms: allegro, andante, largo, moderato
