Product Description

The infectiously upbeat 12th Street Rag was composed by Texas composer Euday L. Bowman near the end of the Ragtime era in 1914.  James S. Sumner was commissioned to write typically clever lyrics that were added in 1919.  It has, over time, become an enduring standard in jazz repertoire.  This arrangement is scored for 4-part SATB ensemble with piano 4-hand accompaniment, with Sumners witty words.  In true Texas (ragtime) style, enjoy this fine piece of Americana in all its glory at an even, leisurely pace.  Performance time: 3:50+-
