This is a fast and energetic arrangement of the fantastic Metallica song with words and music by Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield. The mp3 you will hear is only m. 1-30 because of the ad lib. literlude in the middle. It is for the advanced band with a large range in their notes and counting skills. They will feel the heartbeat of the piece from the very beginning and perform in a tight-fit group which lends itself for a really great showpiece. The piece starts out a pounding beat of brass and lower woodwinds with percussion. Upper woodwinds and percussion hit it hard with trills and repeated measures of the reoccuring theme. Show off your percussion line throughout the piece but especially in the mid-section adlib. Measures 43-60 are the percussion section adlib. This section is for percussion line only to show skills and unique abilities to take this piece to a new level of excitement.
