This is an exact transcription of Herbie Hancock's classic 1973 funk version played on his album "Head Hunters," including the intro and outro played by percussionist Bill Summers, imitating Central African hindewhu, here on flutes. Contrabass clarinet and contrabassoon are optional, but they add a lot to the "growl" effect. If a caxixi is not available, a rain stick or wind machine could be substituted.
