Frank Zappa was an American musician, composer, and record producer who gained immense popularity in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He is considered one of the most influential figures in the avant-garde and experimental music scenes. Zappa was well known for his highly satirical and often controversial lyrics, which often featured references to politics, religion, and society. One of his most famous songs is Mother People, which was released in 1971. The song, which contains the lines Mother people, yeah, they got their rules / Don't do this, don't do that / Mother people, yeah, they got their style / They just can't help but act like a child, is seen as a commentary on the hypocrisy and double standards of modern society. The song has since become an anthem for the counterculture and a classic among Zappa fans.
