John Lelands descriptive and powerful text captivated Joshua Leavitt who composed a plaintive melody about the Saviors pleading in our behalf on Judgement Day. This Appalachian folk hymn tune titled PLEADING SAVIOR was first published in Christians Lyre in 1830 in the Sacred Harp tradition. Arranged with a descriptive, emotive piano accompaniment which underscores the elegance and depth of the lamenting singer, the words conclude with a peaceful return to the Saviors loving arms. Arranged for medium-range solo voice, high-range solo voice and SSAA womens chorus and piano.
