Satie wrote this very popular melody, known as Gymnopédies No 1, in 1888 for piano solo. It is arranged here for a Solo Clarinet in A or Bb. It is perhaps his most well known melody. The arrangement makes it possible to hear the suggested harmonies. Normally the piece works best with an accompaniement. However in this form a 2nd voice is not needed.
