Originally written by composer Stephen Lawrence and Sesame staff writer Annie Evans, this spoof of the titular song from the musical Hair features a hippie dad and his family singing about the many things they love about pears. The original "cast" featured Martin P. Robinson (the Muppeteer beneath Telly Monster and Mr. Snuffleupagus) as Dad, Fran Brill (the Muppeteer beneath Zoe Monster and Prairie Dawn) as Mom, Leslie Carrara-Rudolph (the Muppeteer beneath Abby Cadabby) as Sister, Joey Mazzarino (the Muppeteer beneath Murray Monster and Stinky the Stinkweed) as Brother, and Stephanie D'Abruzzo (the Muppeteer who recently took over performing Prairie Dawn, best known as the Tony Award-nominated originator of the roles of Kate Monster and Lucy in Avenue Q) as the Pear.
