From Miley Cyrus's seventh studio album "Plastic Hearts" is the new hit Midnight Sky. Cyrus's song is heavily inspired by Stevie Nicks' song "Edge of Seventeen." This disco pop rock song will surely get the crowd hyped.
I wanted to stay more faithful to the original, but I did add some of my own ideas that fits the marching band arrangement. The beginning eight measures is a powerful introduction for the whole arrangement, with trumpets and high winds playing a notable motif from the song that will be heard later in this arrangement. In the verse, the melody is thrown around for everyone to play with. The arrangement then builds up to the main chorus of the song. I gave the bridge a half time beat feel in the drumline. The drumline then leads us into the final shout of the second half of the chorus at a fortissimo level. The song finishes out with some simple chords, the last chord being F major instead of F minor.
