Birds is the second movement of the Farm Suite, Aflutter being the first, and the third movement, Knock, will follow later. It's motive is the minor third interval. This movement was inspired by the bird calls I heard outside our home. The flautist and violinist 'communicate' with each other supported by jazz chords being played by the guitarist. This work contains the complete fingerings for the guitar chords for the student. This work could be performed with different instruments, i.e. two flutes, two violins, and the piano or harp, subbing in for the guitar, reminder the guitar tranposes an octave down.
