Product Description
Are You The One? is an original composition for trombone quartet. It started out as a big band + male vocal number, work that is currently ongoing, but I got sidetracked when I realized that the number would work well for trombones alone.
This piece is not technically difficult; the real challenges are accurate playing and intonation. Your bass trombone player will need to keep driving this piece forward, and your first trombone player will require a bit of stamina for those high passages. But on the whole, this will not be difficult for an experienced quartet, can serve as a lighter number that will fit between other more demanding pieces in a concert program. It could be played a little faster than I have indicated, but not too much. I feel it is better to give the lead player and your listeners time to enjoy the melody.
Remember: This is a song, so treat it as such. Each player should "sing" the melody lines when they have them! Work on achieving a warm trombone sound!
