Product Description

Inspired by my childhood memories of singing some obscure hymn lyrics, (What exactly are "fetters?") Ive rewritten several hymns with kid-friendly lyrics and fun piano accompaniments. This arrangement of the hymn text "Songs of Thankfulness and Praise" speaks about Jesus being both fully human and fully God. As a kid, I did not understand "God in man made manifest," and I hope my lyrics (below) are helpful for children. Includes reproducible lyric and lead sheets.

Hymn tune: ST. GEORGES, WINDSOR

Fitting for: General worship and praise, Epiphany

Other titles in the "Hymns for Kids" collection sold on this site:
"All People on the Earth, Sing Out!"
      "We Sing, Now We Rejoice"

I have more childrens songs here, and at Northwestern Publishing House:

Lyrics:
Jesus, I will sing today
Songs of thankfulness and praise.
Wise men saw your star and then
Headed straight for Bethlehem,
Knowing that a King would be
Born from David's fam'ly tree.
Though it's hard to understand,
Jesus, you're both God and man.
(optional) Jesus, you are.... Jesus, you are...

Heaven's voice at Jordan's stream:
"Here's my Son who pleases me!"
You were "God with us," we know,
By the miracles you showed.
First at Cana- what a sign-
Changing water into wine!
Though it's hard to understand,
Jesus, you're both God and man.
(optional) Jesus, you are.... Jesus, you are...

Only God could make us whole,
Healing bodies, healing souls.
Only God could win the fight,
Crushing all the devil's might.
There is no one else who could
Make all things work for my good.
Though it's hard to understand,
Jesus you're both God and man.
