Product Description

Born in 1873, Ethel Barns studied at the Watford School of Music and later at the Royal Academy of Music in London before becoming well known as a violinist-composer in the early 1900s. During her career Barns composed over 120 works comprising orchestral, chamber and vocal music; she was one of the most important female composers of the early twentieth century and to date her music has been performed at the Proms twenty times.

Le Faun is a short work for violin with piano accompaniment perfect for intermediate to professional performers. It was originally printed in volume two of a collection of eight pieces for violin in the first position.
