The beloved tune "Beach Spring" first appeared in the Sacred Harp (1844), one of the early American shaped-note hymnals. It may be found in several Protestant hymnals under different hymn titles, which makes it appropriate for various occasions. Although suggested registrations indicate a larger instrument, this setting may be played effectively on a 2-manual organ. Variations may be extracted for use as service music, or it may be performed in its entirety as a recital piece.  Practical and accessible!
