Valdir Maia

I’m Valdir Maia, a Brazilian cellist who found my path in music through a social project. Over the years, I’ve built a fulfilling career performing with orchestras, chamber groups, and in recording studios. But just as important to me is my role as an educator. For the past 23 years, I’ve been teaching cello and bowed strings to students of all ages—ranging from eager seven-year-olds to enthusiastic learners in their 80s.  

When I realized my students often wanted to play music that didn’t have arrangements readily available, I started creating my own. Over time, I’ve gained experience writing simple and functional arrangements for beginner groups. Now, through this platform, I’m excited to share a bit of my work with you, helping to make music accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
