Dr. Bill Scott came to Western Kentucky University in 2003 as the first Baker Professor of Music where he served as Music Director of The Symphony at WKU, and taught conducting, string pedagogy, and applied double bass. Scott served eight seasons as Music Director and Conductor of the Spartanburg Philharmonic and 23 years as the Orchestra Coordinator for Spartanburg School District 7, the largest public school string program in South Carolina. He has guest conducted and presented clinics in ten states and his nine international concert tours include  performances in 14 countries spanning 4 continents.  Scott recently completed his 50th year as a music educator, conducting the Converse University Symphony Orchestra.
