Product Description

A new exciting, emotional piece for trombone octet or trombone choir. A large section of this piece is based on the military bugle call, "Taps." This rendition of the familiar melody is not solemn, but an optimistic look at a deeper meaning.

In other scenarios the same bugle call is played to indicate "lights-out," at non-deployed military locations. It is also played by members of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to mark the end of an evening event, such as a campfire. These other applications of the "Taps" melody are not often thought of, and very humbling. Whatever the use of the melody is, the same message is understood.

The symbolism behind this piece is that although we might lose loved ones in this lifetime, their light never truly fades.

As performed by the Texas A&M University - Commerce Trombone Choir on February 26, 2018 at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas.

Dedicated to Mr. Jimmy Clark, all members of the TAMUC trombone choir (past and present), and loved ones whose light will never fade.
