This sonata is the last of a set of six published in Paris in 1725. Originally written for 3 transverse flutes, the three movements, Courant, Allemande & a pair of Minuets, have been arranged for flute, oboe & clarinet in Bb. The three parts are equal and independent and suitable for players of intermediate standard and above. Composed in the French style (which includes all the ornamentation required for performance) the sonata makes a very enjoyable concert item.
