Middle English tune associated with the same title and lyrics by Paul Simon, as sung with Art Garfunkel. Yet, the original melody predates them by roughly 600 years. This quite different version for string quartet adds a syncopated bass line, an alto counter-melody and entirely new lyrics, written expressly for wedding preludes and processionals.
