Sin and sorrow find us;
No man can hide from pain.
But God can take our trials
And turn them to our gain.
We look to God with firmness
And pray to find our strength.
He can consecrate afflictions
To conquer them at length.
Faith of men may falter
When weakness shows its face.
If doubt or fear should find us,
We'll seek to know Thy grace.
For Christ is our assurance
That man shall live again,
And that all can be forgiven
Though He who died for sin.
Clouds of darkness gather
In storm at end of days,
While Lucifer still rages
Against all righteous ways.
But God shall be our beacon,
His Christ our guiding star.
They disperse the clouds of error
And lead us from afar.
