Product Description

This beautiful, sacred hymn, with music by Kevin G. Pace and lyrics by Kim L. Jensen, reverently portrays the Saviors profound submission in Gethsemane and His solitary suffering for all humankind. From His heartfelt plea"Remove this cup"to His obedient resolve to fulfill the Father's will, the text captures the anguish, sacrifice, and divine purpose of Christ's atonement. Each verse builds upon the Saviors journey: His agony in the garden, His abandonment, His redemptive suffering, and finally, a call for all believers to follow His example of faithful obedience. With poignant language and tender reverence, the hymn invites reflection on the price Jesus paid and the path He paved for our salvation.

Text:
1. "Remove this cup," the Savior said,
As on bended knee with God he pled,
"Yet if thou wilt, I'll drink it all,
To save thy children from the fall."

2. In pure obedience in God's name
He suffered an agony of pain
That rose o'er all ever known before
Then poured precious blood from every pore.

3. He stood alone that special night,
Deserted by all; His friends in flight,
He gazed into the distant view,
He spilt His blood for me and you.

4. As mortals we stand while yet in life,
Despite all sorrow, turmoil, and strife.
We too must bend to God's holy call,
As did our Redeemer who saved us all.
