Product Description

It is believed that Beethoven wrote these five 3-part fugues somewhere between 1794 and 1795, while he was a student of Johann Albrechtsberger in Vienna, an instructor of counterpoint. These were most likely the result of his lessons to write in the polyphonic style of Palestrina.

These pieces were cataloged using an "H", which stands for Willy Hess, a musicologist who researched and organized all of Beethoven's unpublished works well after his death.

Scored for 2 altos and bass flutes.

Duration: 5.25 minutes
