This prelude is based on the 1770 hymn tune "Darwall's 148th" (sometimes just called "Darwall"), which has many texts associated with it, from "Rejoice, the Lord is King", "Ye holy angels bright", "Christ is our cornerstone", and many others. This festive prelude could also work as a postlude or as a hymn intro, as it is written in the key of C major throughout, which key is usually found for this hymn. It was written and recorded on a two manual instrument. I hope it adds a triumphant and joyful touch to your services!
