Originally written by Dvorak as a piano solo in the key of Gb, Fritz Kreisler made this piece popular as a violin concert solo in 1906. This arrangement is offered in the the key of G Major with suggested bowings and fingerings that have been sucessfully used by my students. The piano accompaniment has been simplified to be playable by any intermediate piano student, studio teacher or parent. The violin part has been modified to include opportuntiies to teach and perform simple double stops, shifting and harmonics. (Note: on the audio file, which is a midi file, the final note sounds as a C natural. As a harmonic (the third finger lightly touching C natural in first position on the G string) it will sound as a G natural and if necessary may be played in first position on the E string with second finger stopping the string).
