Product Description

Luise Adolpha Le Beau (1850-1927) was a German composer of classical music. She studied with noted musicians Clara Schumann and Franz Lachner, but her primary instructor was Josef Gabriel Rheinberger. Like many other 19th century female composers, Le Beau began her career in music as a pianist, and later earned her living teaching, critiquing, and performing music. Her 'Elegie' was composed for solo violin and piano and dates from around 1899. This arrangement for concert band retains the original key but the beautiful melody is shared around the ensemble. This piece is part of an ongoing project to bring more pieces by women composers into the worldwide concert band repertoire.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
