Product Description

Felice de Gardini was an Italin violinist and composer of the 18th century. The tune was inspired by Selina Shirley, Countess of Huntingdon, duning de Gardini's stay in London. His tune would go on to be published in hymnals starting in 1773. Section A exposits the hymn. A modulation to a new key occurs at the end of the section with the help of an Italian augmented sixth chord. Section B then includes a descant by yours truly.
