Albert Benjamin Simpson and his wife Magaret were from Canada. A.B. Simpson pastored churches in the 19th Century and founded the Christian & Missionary Alliance [C&MA]. He and his wife put out many new songs at the time. They passed away shortly after WW1. Sections A and C are the verse. Sections B and D are the chorus. A modulation to a new key occurs right before section c with the aid of a French augmented sixth chord. A descant by yours truly is then added. It should be noted here that the Simpsons intended for this to be played with a good deal of spirit.
