Product Description
Johann Baptist Vanhal lived from May 12, 1739 to August 20, 1813. Born in the Czech Republic, what was then Bohemia, he lived most of his life in Vienna. He was successful enough to be independent the last 30 years of his life; being probably the first Viennese composer to work without a patron.
This concerto, for intermediate level students, is reminiscent of C Major concerto by Haydn.
The PDF includes performance notes concerning cadenzas, the full solo part, and the full piano reduction. It also includes an alternative piano reduction of the 1st movement showing how cadenzas could be eliminated.
