"La Vida Neon" (Etude #8) is in a contemporary Pop R&B style of the 2010s, such as the music of Justin Beiber, Selena Gomez, and others.  Maitain careful attention to the syncopation of the chords in the left hand, as well as to the melodic syncopations played with the right hand.  Mm 39-54 offer a reprieve from the relentless left hand rhythms played previously.  This section, harmonically and rhythmically, alings itself more with neo-soul music, such as that produced by D'Angelo, Lauren Hill, Robert Glasper, and others.
