(The true story behind the creation of this song)

John Meola Lindhorst wrote this song while vacationing in Hawaii. He was relaxing at the world-famous Royal Hawaiian Hotel on Waikiki Beach. As he sipped a potent Mai Tai and munched on delicious Hawaiian Appetizers (a Pupu platter), he came to the stark realization that he would soon be leaving this tropical paradise. The thought of leaving Hawaii weighed heavy on his mind and he was not looking forward to returning to the cold and bitter weather in Chicago.

It was this very situation that inspired a fun song with a memorable melody and unique lyrics. The simple ukulele accompaniment features three basic chords, so even a beginning musician can master the song. The chord charts are conveniently placed within the led sheet.
