Product Description

Originally composed for mixed choir by Russian composer Pavel Tschnesnokoff in 1913. It is a sacred work performed a cappella. The English translation is as follows: "Salvation is created, in midst of the earth, O God, O our God. Alleluia." (source: CPDL.org)

While this work began for choir, an arrangement was written for concert band in 1957 by Bruce Houseknecht. That version was my first exposure to the work. I thought it would work well with the organic sound of a clarinet choir and set out to arrange it. In this arrangement, I went back to the original choral work. I kept the original time signature throughout most of the piece. However, I did transpose the piece into a more clarinet-friendly key.
