Back to School 2015 Its title says it all Skeet Shooting with Moms Fiestaware imagines a dangerous excursion where a child sneaks off for some fun with Moms colorful dinnerware, gets caught, and has to glue everything back together. The pieces use of mixed meter and soli writing will challenge any high school band, but its use of grooves, aleatoric notation, and bizarre techniques (including dropping a cymbal) will make it fun and accessible for everyone. Originally commissioned by the Riverside Brookfield High School concert band for their retiring director Kevin McOlgan, the only stipulation given to the composer was for it to feature McOlgans primary obsession: fiestaware.
